Once your date and crew are selected, that hourly rate stays fixed, while your final bill reflects the billable time required, plus applicable transportation charges and packing materials. For a more economical option, consider booking Monday through Thursday, when hourly rates are lower than Friday through Sunday. Crew size can also influence your overall cost. Although a larger team carries a higher hourly rate, the additional help may shorten the time needed to pack, load, and unload your belongings. The time required depends on your home’s size, how much furniture you have, and access conditions such as stairs, elevators, and the walking distance to the truck. Packing and labeling your boxes before moving day can help your crew work efficiently and make better use of your scheduled time.
10 Steps to a Smooth, Successful Move

1. Start with an Estimate Tailored to You
Your Move Coordinator walks you through your estimate, addresses questions, and suggests services. Estimates are non-binding, with final costs based on your belongings, access conditions, packing needs, and preparedness. We promise to show up for your scheduled move and never deliberately overbook.
2. Prepare with Helpful Resources
Once you’ve booked, we’ll send a moving checklist and practical preparation tips to keep you organized.
3. Stay Connected with Your Coordinator
Reach out by phone, text, or email for questions, inventory changes, service updates, or scheduling assistance.
4. Let Us Know What’s Changed
Around 24–48 hours before moving day, you’ll receive a brief survey about any updates, packing requirements, or access concerns.
5. Review Your Moving Details
Your Move Coordinator will call to confirm your addresses, arrival window, special requests, and survey responses.
6. Receive an Updated Estimate When Needed
If you add furniture or services, we’ll adjust your estimate to reflect the anticipated time and cost before your move.
7. Plan the Move with Your Crew
Upon arrival, your crew will walk through your space, check your belongings and access, and discuss specialty items and any concerns.
8. Discuss Any Moving-Day Adjustments
If the walkthrough reveals extra work, your Foreman will explain it and provide a revised estimate before proceeding. You are not bound to continue service with Coffey Bros. Moving if you’re not comfortable with the revised estimate. Before any billable work begins we will always discuss up front the expected cost of the move.
9. Count on Support Throughout the Move
Our Dispatch team is available to answer questions and coordinate additional movers, trucks, materials, or equipment as needed.
10. Stay Supported After Moving Day
Our Customer Service and Claims teams are here to help with billing questions, concerns, and claims after your move.
Our packing and moving services include complimentary use of durable plastic containers and protective blankets to help safeguard your belongings during transport. Stretch wrap (which is the flexible film used to secure furniture, boxes, and other items), and packing tape are charged separately.
